Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide.Begin your journey with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial , a powerful and moving site that offers deep insight into Rwanda’s history, resilience, and reconciliation.
After the visit, enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s famous rolling hills toward Volcanoes National Park in the northern province. The journey offers breathtaking countryside views and a glimpse into Rwanda’s beauty, often referred to as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”
Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, check in, and relax as you enjoy the serene atmosphere and stunning views of the volcanic landscape.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by the park rangers at 7:30 AM. You will then begin your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in the dense rainforest of Volcanoes National Park. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will hike through bamboo forests and mist-covered slopes in search of your assigned gorilla family.
The trek may take between 2 to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once found, you will spend a magical one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—an experience that is both emotional and unforgettable. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you will learn about ongoing conservation efforts to protect mountain gorillas and support local communities. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Return to Kigali
Start your day early with breakfast before heading back into the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking. This fun and energetic trek offers a chance to observe the playful golden monkeys as they leap through bamboo trees in their natural environment.
After the trek, return to the lodge to refresh and enjoy lunch. Later, begin your scenic drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a short city tour or last-minute shopping in Kigali.
You will then be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Rwanda safari experience.
